I did a sorta rough draft of my front cover this morning, I might keep it. I changed the name "unsigned Act" to "Base" for two reasons, 1) Base is more memorable and passable as a franchise "Base Magazine" is quite catchy in my mind
2) It relates to the idea of "bass" in music, so its almost a play on words
Anyway I just felt it was more interesting that "Unsigned Act", although the magazine still follows the same ideas that i planned.

This is my mood map. It shows various fonts and artwork that inspires the look of my magazine. the vibrant colours (reds and whites) help the magazine to stand out, giving it an exciting atmosphere. The photographs i've included tend to be quite arty, picking on excentric outfits etc.

James, where's the evaluation of the prelim task? Just say what worked, what didn't and why? What would your do again/change? What have you learnt from the task? Youy should be producing your magazine by now so you need to get your mood board and sketches on here asap and get your photos taken. If you've already done this then make sure you record this and provide evidence. Only 4 weeks left!

Questionairre Summary

I have found out from Questionnaire that people would be interested in the features my magazine would have to offer, and that not just a niche audience, but a broader audience would buy it. I also asked a range of ages, and my target audience is teen upwards, but doesn't seem to stop until a much older age, meaning it would appeal to young and older generations.

Look at this one, it uses familiar colours, Red and White are prodominant on all Q magazine covers and inlays, making them instantly recogniseable.

RESEARCH

what's  special about this front age is the use of bright vibrant images, which grab the shoppers attention.  Stuff like recognisible fonts and logos, as well as PLENTY of content and detail, really encouraging the buyer that its a worthwile read.

This is my front cover of my preliminary task, I'll talk more about it later when i find out what i'm supposed to say, i still need to do a bit of research anyway...

EVALUATION
I feel that lack of colour makes the front cover look a bit drab, and theres not enough infomation, its quite simplistic and not as eye catching. Also the logo is a bit bare. When i make my music magazine i'll be sure to make a busier more colourful and eyecatching article.

James,
For week 4 of the project i would expect to see much more here! You should have completed all your research and planning by now and your prelim task, however, i see no evidence of it! You need to catch up asap. Please see me if youare struggling. I will have to place you on a stage referral if i see no development here this week.
